Soul Eater 10! Time to do something without being reminded for once so Mochi doesn’t kick my sorry ass.
Episode starts with tomatoes falling to the water. …Don’t ask. It looked like a rotten tomato to me. Tsubaki monologue about her being a kid? Who’s the other guy with the ponytail? Ah, unanswered questions.

Episode -seems- to be something relating to Tsubaki’s past, from the start. Acceptance of a mission to kill the Masamune, apparently another competitor to Chrona and Ragnarok to become the Demon God.
Stein cancels class for some strange reason. Soul, of course, thinks that’s really cool. Tsubaki and Black Star also aren’t in class, because they went to perform the action against the Masamune.
Black Star and Tsubaki go to a town ripped out of feudal Japan. Tsubaki starts revealing something to BS, but he runs off looking at a statue, which he promptly stands on top of, pissing off the townspeople, considering that the statue’s the patron god of the town. …Old guy starts pelvic thrusting. FOOOO– *shot dead by Mochi*
The rest of the town comes out, and BS starts pointing fingers at everyone until they notice the star-shaped mark on his right shoulder. The only survivor of the… Star Clan? At this point, the entire town begins getting pissed off at him instead. BS and Tsubaki are chased out of town by an angry mob, and they take refuge in a nearby tree.
Tsubaki looks on, and looks rather emotional, as BS reminisces about his tattoo, and begins telling a story about his clan, who apparently started going after human souls too. The last survivor of his clan. …Is this familiar to anyone else? Because I’m not sure of the similar subject material since it’s mainstream as HELL, but…
BS also doesn’t care about why Tsubaki knows Masamune. Which is perfectly okay with him, since he just wants to kick some ass around. At which point, someone wearing a hat walks into the town looking oddly similar to that guy in Tsubaki’s flashback. OH SHI-
Scene to Maka talking with Stein to Shinigami-sama, wondering why BS was allowed to go. Death the Kid walks in too, wondering the same, as Stein begins to explain that the Fey Blade works alone, making him possibly more dangerous than Chrona/Ragnarok working together.
The other kid from earlier is snuck up on by the guy in the hat, and is promptly– cut short by the eyecatch.

Grandpa walks in to the building but notices that the kid is carrying a katana, as the kid promptly… does something to make the old man cry out GUAAAH. BS and Tsubaki start moving and kick the possessed kid in the face. 24 damage!
Important quote in screenshot above. Swordie recognises Tsubaki, and she comes up with a fun little plan, switching to her chainsword form, feeling guilty about using Black Star… at which point he doesn’t care and just goes along with it.

Black Star stops failing momentarily to make an epic parry of an epic thrust, which rips off one of my older invented techniques, but then evolves to stab him through a couple times. Sadly enough, BS starts getting his ass kicked.
Then he takes a moment to perform the Resonance of Souls maneuver, creating a shield from Tsubaki’s chain, deflecting the slash, jumping up and using the soul-wavelength attack to break the bond on the other guy, as… Tsubaki… WAIT WHAT
ASD;LFKJ NO DON’T DO THAT WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING. She merges with the Fey Blade. Ah shit. Soul wonders how she can fight alone without her master.
Oddly terrifying music at this part. I’m actually slightly chilled right now just from hearing it. Tsubaki, inside the Fey Blade, wonders where he is, as he says that he will slay her where she stands. And that he has been expecting her. …THEY LOOK THE S–
….AH SHIT.
One of the things I didn’t like about this episode was how bloody slow the opening scenes were, but I guess that was required to set up the remainder of the story. I’m probably used to things rushing along too quickly. >_>; lol city life. And yes, Mochi, I know I’m a lazy bastard and don’t know what the meaning of “fast” is, please don’t kill me.
