hibaridesu – still not here

June 15, 2008

First of all, brief updates on current anime I’m blogging:

Katekyo Hitman Reborn! is up to episode 87. Episodes 84 – 85 were both filler, so you missed nothing. The end of 85 starts the training between Hibari and Tsuna, as well as Gokudera and Yamamoto’s training with their respective tutors.

The sub group I’m following for Nabari no Ou is STILL not done with episode 9 or 10, so I can’t say much on that. Episode 8 ends with that one Oda lady resolving not to use her mind-reading skills anymore, after finding out that her rookie secretary Katou has been a spy from that one clan with the glasses-guy for the past year. Oh, did I forget to mention that during this episode, Yoite pretty much goes berserk and starts blasting his kinjutsu at everyone nearby? Thankfully Miharu steps in and takes a hit, which makes Yoite stop.

Amatsuki has been dropped due to my lack of interest. It got boring, what can I say?

Other than that, I’m still busy studying for my last final on Monday, so there won’t be any updates this weekend from my end.

Nabari no Ou 7

All I have to do is say “ninja anime” and the first thing that most people will think of is “Naruto”, right?

In a world now dominated by a single crappy anime/manga series about a ninja donning an orange jumpsuit, there is one newer ninja anime that shines above the rest.

After Naruto, ninja anime/manga really, REALLY did not appeal to me anymore; it had left a bad taste in my mouth, and I wanted to avoid it at all costs. Then came along Nabari no Ou – and I must admit, while I was very reluctant to check it out at first, I’m glad I forced myself into it.

Enter modern Japan: You have guns, technology, computers, and psycho business men trying to take over the world as usual. Ninjas are the stuff of myth these days, but little do the humans of today know that ninjas still exist, in their world known as “Nabari”. Rokujo Miharu, the “Master of Apathy” as he is known, is being targeted by the “Kairoushuu” clan because he holds in his body the equivalent of a nine-tailed fox – The Hijutsu, Shinrabanshou or whatever, I’m not really sure which is which.
